Labitat Is...

A technology startup with a two-pronged business model, consulting and building internal divisions. We have some very strong beliefs when it comes to our business dealings on both sides.

A.) Consulting

Our primary focus is on providing the best search engine optimization and search engine marketing (ppc) consulting services to our clients. Because we're not concerned with being the biggest marketing consultancy, only the best at what we do, we will never have more than a handful of active consulting clients at any given point in time.

When we take on a consulting client, each client has to fit into our "ideal client profile". It may sound like we really don't want to do consulting, but that's not the case at all. We simply want to make sure that the clients we take on as consulting projects are as committed to their projects as we are and have the ability to execute the plans we put in place.

  1. Demonstrated need for search engine optimization
  2. Demonstrated need for pay per click (search engine marketing) consulting
  3. Established company or startup who's founders are leaders In their fields
  4. Looking for more than technical implementation & seeking business model improvements
  5. Requiring a solution that has never been crafted before
  6. Ability & foresight to implement recommendations quickly and to follow-through with data gathering & analysis

B.) Internal Business Development

Taking ideas that have been researched over a period of time and turning them into projects is the other half of the Labitat business model. Because we're committed to innovations in the fields of search engine marketing, online marketing, public relations, data mining and search analytics, we must constantly be experimenting.

Of course, the result of experiments always has the potential to become a new business. We don't just start an experiment so we can turn it into a business, there must be a demonstrated need for the experiment and if that experiment shows us new data and raises more questions than answers then we continue. Here are some of our guiding principles with regards to internal projects.

  • Smaller is better.
  • Collaborate with the best.
  • Our projects are our passion.
  • If a project gains traction then it also gains resources.
  • Market Insight outperforms business hindsight.
  • We invest in ourselves.

Labitat Is Not

Labitat is not another Web 2.0 startup with one or two big ideas and backing of a large Silicon Valley VC firm. Nor are we an incubator for your interenet startup and won't help you get funding for your big idea either. We're not trying to solve the multi-billion dollar problems online like email spam, viruses, or click fraud and we'll never be a large company. When we see red tape our first reaction is to find the closest pair of scissors and start cutting.
